MACKENZIE WATSON

MacKenzie focuses her practice on litigation, employment, and labor law.  She represents both employees and employers in contract disputes, severance agreements, and charges of discrimination. She also aids small businesses in creating operating and employment agreements.  As a prior educator, MacKenzie is always thrilled to get a case focusing on issues educators face in their own school corporations.

MacKenzie graduated from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where she was the Senior Executive Editor of the Indiana Law Review. MacKenzie also joined the Robert H. Staton Intramural Moot Court Competition, was an active member of Women’s Caucus, and participated in the Immigration Clinic at Indiana Legal Services.  While at JBJ, MacKenzie has been published in DTCI’s Indiana Civil Litigation Review Volume XVI 2019: The False Claims Act.

PRIOR EXPERIENCE

After graduating from Purdue University, MacKenzie began teaching students with disabilities. She then continued teaching full time for the first three years of law school. While in law school, MacKenzie juggled working as a full-time special education teacher with growing her legal knowledge.  During her summer breaks, she gained valuable legal experience by interning with the Indiana Horseracing Commission, Whitsitt Nooning and Kruse, PC, and Katz Korin Cunningham, PC.  During her final year of law school, MacKenzie joined JBJ as its first law clerk where she gained experience drafting legal documents, conducting research, and communicating with clients.
